Background
This idea was first invented by GySgt Jack Coughlin, USMC, who fought in the Iraq War in 2003. He was a Marine Corps Scout/Sniper who had 60+ confirmed kills. He had submitted the idea to the Government, but I do not believe it was ever approved. I have manipulated the origin to fit airsoft needs and tactics...
MS/ST stands for Mobile Scout/Sniper Team. GySgt Coughlin believed that it could multiply the effects of sniping by having a small team of trained snipers in different roles. They were supposed to be transported in light-skineed vehicles, but these are not available in airsoft. My idea is to have 1 MSST to be a 4-man sniper team with the following positions:
While in the field, the team would be at "random distances from eachother" in a Skirmish Line Formation, and travel in a Skirmish Line-Wedge formation. The MSST is only useful for larger skirmishes, obviously, and can be manuevered to capture objectives, observe enemy movement/defense formation, scout using radios, or be an effective sniper team. They should keep an effective link to the rear, as to relay information back to their higher-ups.
TO|E depends on what the team's objective is, their enviornment, etc. However, they should usually consist of the following:
These are example pictures for the formations.
Skirmish Line Formation, used when the Team is stationary
Fire Team Wedge Formation, used when the squad is mobile

If anyone has any suggestions, please post and I will edit away. Thanks!

- (2) Snipers (Bolt Action or any other sniper rifle)
- (1) Spotter (M14 or semi-automatic DMR)
- (1) Rifleman (M16A4, M4, AK-47.)
While in the field, the team would be at "random distances from eachother" in a Skirmish Line Formation, and travel in a Skirmish Line-Wedge formation. TO|E depends on what the team's objective is, their enviornment, etc. However, they should usually consist of the following:
- (1) Hand-held radio for the MSST leader to communicate with the rear.
- (1) set of binoculars, used for the team to scout objectives and enemy activity.
- Proper camouflage. This can be a ghillie, but a ghillie may not be needed for everyone.
